a sudden end to a party...

Following the knocks coming from the front door, Fran swiftly puts the artefact back in the bag, and without hesitation, the trio quickly gets up to let their mates into the party.

 

An hour goes by and the house is loud and packed full of uni students letting loose, dancing, laughing, and having the times of their lives partying. Just when everything seems normal, weird things start to begin happening. Fran, who is anxiously standing in the corner of the room looking through her bag, looks frustrated and worried. This catches Matt and Sarah’s attention and they head over to check on her.

“Hey, are you feeling okay?” Matt askes trying to cheer her up.

​

Fran completely disregards his question and Sarah drunkenly stumbles closer too her. 

​

“Seriously why aren’t you out there dancing with me?” Sarah jokes. “Don’t you wanna enjoy your own house party? Everyone is having such a great time!” 

​

Fran just looks at her and takes a deep breath, “Wow, I’m glad you’re having fun Sarah, but right now I have to find that artefact before somebody else does. It’s missing from my bag and I can’t find it anywhere!” 

​

Immediately following Fran’s reply, Thomas, the trio’s other close friend is drunkenly smiling and standing at the top of the staircase holding the artefact.

Without hesitation, Fran yells, “Hey, be careful with that Thomas!

​

Thomas replies with a cheeky tone, “Or what? Your old witch friend is gonna curse me?” I can’t believe you even beli..." 

​

Thomas throws the artefact and pretends to drop it when out of nowhere, the huge gust of wind returns and interrupts Thomas’ comment. The artefact lands on the top stair right where Thomas is standing. Drunken Thomas begins to lose his balance all of a sudden and mysteriously falls down the stairs, tumbling, and rolling. The crowd is silent and watching this unfold. After the final tumble, he lays on the bottom step unconscious in a pool of blood...
